The governor touted several reforms made during his tenure in office as the catalysts for keeping the state’s unemployment rate low and the interest from businesses high during an appearance at the University Club in Shreveport. Louisiana’s unemployment rate for the month of May was 6.3 percent, well below the national rate of 9.7 percent.
Jindal was in town for his Louisiana Working Tour, which will cover all 64 parishes of the state. Jindal was hosted by the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce and the Bossier Chamber of Commerce.
