Jindal Campaign Has $7.2 Million in Cash on Hand

Today, the Bobby Jindal Campaign Committee submitted its campaign finance report to the Louisiana Ethics Administration reporting a total of $4.7 million raised for the Governor’s reelection campaign during the 2009 calendar year.

“Governor Jindal’s continued fundraising success, especially among small donors, is a reflection of his success to bring lasting change to our state,” said Republican Party of Louisiana Chairman Roger F. Villere, Jr.

“In just two years, Governor Jindal has transformed the way our state does business by passing sweeping ethics reform, cutting taxes more than two dozen times and making sure government lives within its means. Most importantly though, Governor Jindal has fostered a pro-growth economic environment that is creating opportunity for Louisianians right here at home and enabling Louisiana to outperform the South and the nation. With Governor Jindal’s re-election still two years in the making, his unprecedented fundraising in 2008 and 2009 indicate significant support for his reform agenda, growing momentum for his campaign, and a formidable obstacle to any potential challenger.”
