Vitter Has Commanding Lead, High Approval Ratings, Melancon Rapidly Losing Support
Posted in Uncategorized Posted by Administrator on May 03, 2010(Baton Rouge, La) – According to a recently released independent poll, U.S. Sen. David Vitter holds a commanding lead, high approval ratings and has gained in support. Meanwhile Charlie Melancon is rapidly losing support. Vitter’s approval rating is at 63 percent.
Using the same methodology as a poll from October, the Southern Media & Opinion Research poll shows that Vitter has gone up and Melancon has dropped five points. Vitter’s approval ratings have also increased.
“It is crystal clear that Obama, Melancon, and liberal democrats in Louisiana are very unpopular,” said Republican Party of Louisiana Communications Director Aaron Baer. “Sen. Vitter’s support continues to increase and Melancon continues to lose support. His liberal big spending voting record is turning Louisiana voters away from him, and the more people find out about him, the quicker his numbers start dropping.”
In the October poll done by Southern Media & Opinions Research, Vitter won head to head over Melancon by a score of 48 to 36. In the poll with the same methodology done this month, Vitter now holds an even more commanding lead of 49 to 31. Vitter’s approval ratings have also increased from 57 to 63 percent.
