“…Oh, the governor talked jobs and about our growing rep. He talked work force and about our more rigid school standards. He talked infrastructure and how the state has poured some money into our campuses and highways. And if you’d heard it a time or two, well, it doesn’t hurt to hear it once more…
What makes it special is that it is true. The governor has delivered on his promise to focus on northeastern Louisiana. His actions … have preserved or lured jobs in these parts. There really is a new community college campus, its doors swung wide open…
While Jindal touted the legislative successes his administration has enjoyed — indeed … it seems to affirm a purposeful plan — the governor … also asked if we as a state will offer more opportunities to our children than offered to us…
The question has merit and, naturally, the governor had the answer: Yes…
True? It is if we act on the words.
True? It is if we ourselves buy into what others have said about the state.
Accolades for Louisiana have come not from an occasional voice but from many views and directions: from Southern Business and Development magazine, which named us “Co-State of the Year” for significant business developments; from Gallup’s Job Creation Index; from Business Facilities magazine, which touted our FastStart job training program.
