Happy Independence Day

Dear Fellow American,

Two hundred and thirty six years ago today marks America’s humble beginning. In 1776, our Founding Fathers came together with conviction under dire circumstances and signed the Declaration of Independence. These patriots not only laid the foundation for our country, but also changed the course of history.

As friends and families gather to celebrate this historic anniversary, we also commemorate the Founding Fathers’ core values that liberated the thirteen colonies from an oppressive government and formed our emerging nation. When they faced a crossroads, led by their faith and values, our Founding Fathers pushed forward down the path less traveled toward freedom and democracy. Although our world has changed considerably since 1776, America is still a flourishing nation rooted in liberty and opportunity. Like the monuments that commemorate our predecessors, the principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness continue to stand strong.

In decades since, countless Americans have chosen to live and die by these very values that rest at the heart of our nation. To those brave men and women…we owe our eternal gratitude.

As I think back on our nation’s history, I’m reminded of the many crossroads that our nation has come upon. United, we have stood together through times of trouble and always advanced into a brighter future. The day our Constitution was signed, the day we stormed the beaches of Normandy, and one of our nation’s darkest hours on September 11, 2001…all revealed the nature of America’s resolve. When our nation comes together facing a common threat, with the resolve of our forefathers, we are unstoppable.

We’ve come upon yet another crossroads, and in this brief window of time, we must once again decide the course of our nation’s future. The choices lie between common sense conservative solutions or the current progressive, liberal agenda set forth by our President. With the size and number of people dependent on government increasing each day, we can’t sit idly by.

To regain Washington, every voice must come together and call for fresh vision and new leadership. With our mission clear and our goals set forth, we must work tirelessly to win back the America of our forefathers.

I hope you enjoy this time with family and never forget the sacrifices made to make us who we are today. Take a few hours to get outside and enjoy our nation’s splendor and the beauty of the great state of Louisiana with your loved ones. I hope you have a happy Fourth of July and I wish you the best.

Sincerely,

Roger Villere
Chairman
Republican Party of Louisiana
